Something from Roald Dahl 😉
“Hold me tight, just for a little while. It’ll be over soon.”
— Takako Chigusa, Battle Royale.
This scene hurts my heart so baaaad. I can’t even move on. 😭 It’s when you’re in the brink of dying and the memories rolled in front of your eyes; and then when you opened your eyes for the last time, you see a familiar face, a friend, a love that should have been blossomed, kneeling next to you, cradling your head.
He remained expressionless but his lovely eyes express despair. He just looks at you and listen to your final words, and this… is your last request.
Demn. I cried again typing this one. Oh well.. 😥
In this era of technology and fast development, here’s an eye-opener movie for all. Kita Kita [ I see you ], is a Filipino movie taken in the city of Sapporo in Japan. I’ve been waiting for this movie for a long time. If I remember, Kita Kita movie has been circulating the social media last 2016 and only released in theaters last July 19, 2017.
I’ve watched their trailer in 2016 and I said to myself, I have to watch that movie. They have this vibe of long distance relationship, since Lea (Alessandra De Rossi) has been blind for quite some time now, Tonyo (Empoy Marquez) took care of her and lead her on an adventure that she can’t never forget. Even though the eyes can’t see, she felt him. She feels his presence, his care, his loyalty and how he made her feel special.
Most couples nowadays don’t venture on the long distance relationship part and even say that it will NEVER work because of one thing, THEY WILL DON’T SEE EACH OTHER OFTEN. And sorry to break this up to you guys, I’ve been in a long distance relationship for quite some years now and I’ve felt the care and love of my special someone so much than my ex. If the guy is really serious he will never, ever take you for granted even if you two are miles apart.
Before I get sidetracked, For me, even this movie has its simple story, the people behind it told us in a striking way. After the movie ends, you will definitely stay in your seats and contemplate what did you do with your relationships (or some sort). I just hope producers, directors and writers in the Philippines open up their minds that you don’t have to deal with superstars in order to make a blockbuster movie. A good acting and funny puns can do it. 😉
Here’s some quotes from the movie,
“Nagluto pala ako ng turon. Matamis. Baka kailangan mo ng asukal. Ang asim kasi ng mukha mo”. – Tonyo
Kapag makita kita, pang-leading man ang mukha mo.”
Tonyo: “Bulag ka nga”
“Nagugutom ako kapag nakakarinig ako ng bell. Naaalala ko ang recess. – Tonyo
“Oops. Hindi ako mayabang. Humble ako. Di ko nga pinagpapapansin lahat ng patay na patay sa aking mga chicks sa lalawigan namin. Sabi ko wait lang, wait lang, wait lang kasi taken na ako.” – Tonyo
“Taken kanino?” – Lea
“Sa’yo” – Tonyo
“Isa. Isang beses lang ako nagmahal. Masama ba magmahal ng isa lang?” – Tonyo
Ang ganda mo. May maitutulong ba ko sa’yo?
It’s now. It’s never
“Noong nakakakita ka, di mo ako nakita. Nang mabulag ka, doon mo lang ako nakita.” – Tonyo
“Di mo naman kailangang makita (ang mukha ko), di siya makakatulong sa mundo” – Tonyo
“Si Sapporo na loyal, Si Sapporo na di nang-iiwan.”
