The Great Gatsby

Another travel back in 1920s by F. Scott Fitzgerald. After I finished the book, I was astounded for like 1-2minutes. My mind was blank and in my head I was screaming.. WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT?

In movies, Jay Gatsby was, portrayed by none other than Leonardo de Caprio and he’s the Jay that I was imagining when I was reading the book. The movie is awe-inspiring, but the book, it’s so breathtaking. It was written way back 1920s, but the characters in the book are considerably common that their way of thinking and body language is still the same what we have here in the 21st century. So close that it was cited by F. Scott,

“Tom and Daisy – they smashed up things and creatures and then retreated back into their money or their vast carelessness, or whatever it was that kept them together, and let other people clean up the mess they had made”

Here’s one of the reviews on GoodReads that for me was on ‘point’ 😉

The Great Gatsby
By Nataliya

Oh, Gatsby you old sport, you poor semi-delusionally hopeful dreamer with ‘some heightened sensitivity to the promises of life’, focusing your whole self and soul on that elusive money-colored green light – a dream that shatters just when you are *this* close to it.

Jay Gatsby, who dreamed a dream with the passion and courage few possess – and the tragedy was that it was a wrong dream colliding with the reality that was even more wrong – and deadly.

My Favorite Quotes from the book
